Pocahontas Greadington Learning & Creativity CenterGather with other artists to share your work and support fellow creatives. Sessions led by Trueson Daugherty, an emerging visual artist, performance artist and sculptor. For adults.
An Artist Council meeting is a structured gathering designed to support artists in maintaining a consistent creative practice through accountability, mentorship and community. Each meeting will begin with a reading of the council’s mission and values, followed by a guided excerpt from an artistic practice book to inspire discussion.
Members then will participate in a Creative Commitment Check-in, sharing their recent work, challenges and goals, with optional feedback provided in a supportive manner. An open-sharing session will follow, allowing members to express anything beyond their structured updates. The meeting concludes with announcements, a reaffirmation of the council’s purpose and a group recitation of Martha Graham’s “Keep the Channel Open” quote, reinforcing the commitment to ongoing artistic practice.
