Curious about your family history but don’t know where to start? This beginner-friendly workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of genealogy research and demonstrates how to use Ancestry Library Edition, one of the world’s largest collections of genealogical records available free at all TCCL branches.
Genealogy Resource Center Coordinator Aaron Pope will guide you through the essentials of building your family history, including:
· A short overview of genealogy basics and where to begin;
· A live demo of Ancestry Library Edition, including census, military and immigration records;
· Tips for searching effectively, using filters and exploring the card catalog;
· Local research examples, including Oklahoma and Five Tribes connections;
· A Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
