Place a hold on some books of mystical creatures, fairies and trolls, and then discover the land of hidden worlds. Visit your backyard, park or botanical garden, and experience your visual awareness.
Stop by the Kendall-Whittier Library and use our curbside pickup service to pick up your activity kit. Supplies are limited on first-come-first-serve basis.
Have you hugged a tree? Visit your backyard, a park or botanical garden. Experience your visual awareness of really knowing a tree. Have fun with the family and friends. Pair off. Lead a member blindfolded to a tree that attracts you. Help the blindfolded person to explore this tree and feel its uniqueness. Ask specific suggestions, such as: "Is this tree still alive? Can you put your arms around it? Is the tree older than you are? Do you feel plants growing on it?" When your partner is finished lead him back to where you began, but take an indirect route. Now take the blindfold off and let him try to find his tree with his eyes open. Make a collage of your experience.
