Ross will discuss how to start a song and the importance of finishing it, song arrangement and analysis, the difference between a lyricist and a composer, and other songwriting tips. He also will give a quick glance at songwriting greats John Lennon and Paul McCartney and talk about how their songwriting evolved. Best known for his work as a founding member of Tulsa bands The Groove Pilots and Mollys Yes, Ross has enjoyed not just local success but also national recognition with the 1999 major label release of "Wonderworld," a record by Mollys Yes on Republic/Universal/MCA. In 2003 he recorded the sophomore effort "Roundabout" by Tulsa band Fanzine at famed Abbey Road studios in London. In 2005, he opened Oklahoma Music Academy, a private music tutoring firm in Tulsa.
