Hispanic Heritage Month 2023: Latinx Art Workshops
Presented by the Hispanic Resource Center
Friday, October 13
4:00pm - 5:00pm
Martin Regional Library
AuditoriumJoin us for a variety of Latinx art workshops in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, including Papier-mâché Alebrijes, Glass Mosaic and Clay Day of the Dead Skulls.
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the Tulsa City-County Library with events honoring the colorful traditions of Hispanic culture.
This year’s celebrations include a three-part art workshop series focusing on specific art practices in Latin America. Learn about alebrijes by creating your very own out of cardboard and papier-mâché, showcase your creativity by learning about the art of the Latin American mosaic practice with a DIY workshop, and don't miss out on creating a traditional Day of the Dead skull to adorn your altar or simply learn more about the significant celebration.
All ages are invited to join us for the following workshops:
Oct. 6
Papier-mâché Alebrijes Art Workshop
Oct. 13
Glass Mosaic Art Workshop
Oct. 20
Clay Day of the Dead Skulls Art Workshop
The annual celebration is coordinated by Tulsa City-County Library’s Hispanic Resource Center, which provides cultural, informational and educational resources, as well as activities and services for both Spanish- and English-speaking families. The center was established to meet the educational and cultural needs of Tulsa County’s growing Hispanic community.
