Have you wanted to explore your family’s military history but weren’t sure where to begin? This workshop will introduce you to multiple ways of locating U.S. military records — from online databases to archival resources — covering every era from the American Revolutionary War to Vietnam. 

Topics Covered: 
*Where to Start: Understanding what records exist for different time periods 
*Fold3 and Beyond: Accessing Fold3 free through TCCL and exploring its collections 
*Additional Online Resources: National Archives, Ancestry Library Edition and specialty sites 
*Record Types Explained: Draft cards, service files, unit histories, pension applications, casualty lists and award citations 
*Search Strategies: Using advanced filters, name variations and record sets 

Each attendee will receive a take-home handout with key tips, a timeline of U.S. military eras. and a curated list of recommended resources.
