What is D&D?
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) that has been popular since the 1970s. In D&D, players create characters and embark on quests guided by a game master, also known as the Dungeon Master (DM). These quests are set in a fantasy world and often involve exploring dungeons, fighting monsters, solving puzzles and gathering treasure.
The game relies heavily on imagination, storytelling and cooperative problem-solving. Players use dice rolls to determine the success of their character's actions, and the DM narrates the story, guiding the players through the adventure. D&D has been credited with fostering creativity, social skills and strategic thinking. It's a really engaging game that has spawned countless spin-offs, novels, movies and video games.
What is the story?
We will be exploring the Beastlands: an Outer Plane of untamed, lush nature characterized by sentient beasts and powerful animal lords. We'll begin on an expedition to investigate reports of dinosaur poaching. Such behavior is not tolerated in the beastlands, where all creatures great and small are sentient. Think Indiana Jones meets Jumanji plus dinosaurs.
What level characters?
We will begin this adventure at level 3.
What if I can't make it every week?
It's OK to miss a session! We will decide as a group how to handle absences so no one is left behind.
